On September 9, 2019, the fourth annual Oregon Guild Giving Golf Tournament took place at the Tualatin Country Club in Tualatin, Oregon. In addition to acting as the founding and master sponsor, the event was planned and staffed by Guild Mortgage volunteers.
Made possible by the Guild Giving Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit entity established by Guild Mortgage to help facilitate charitable giving throughout the organization, the event raised $27,285 each for the following three charities:
Relief Nursery is an organization that helps prevent the cycle of child abuse and neglect through early intervention that focuses on building successful and resilient children, strengthening parents, and preserving families.
Habitat for Humanity Portland Metro East is dedicated to providing affordable housing to those in need and will use the proceeds from this tournament to build a 12-plex in North Portland.
Raphael House of Portland is an emergency domestic violence shelter providing safety for women, men and children, as well as the stability to help survivors repair their lives.
Last year, the Guild Giving Golf Tournament raised $53,000. Though 2019 has been unpredictable economically, the fact that the tournament raised nearly $30,000 more than the year prior proves that generosity can thrive in any condition.
Guild Mortgage acted as master sponsor alongside Appraisal Valet, who has also supported the tournament since its inception in 2016. Other sponsors included Arch Mortgage Insurance, First American Title, Informative Research, Fidelity National Title, Homebot, Radian, MGIC, National MI, Old Republic Title, Cresa and Essent.
The event sold out this year, hosting 36 foursomes on 18 holes of golf. Golfers were treated to lunch, a sponsored happy hour, live and silent auctions and a buffet dinner catered by the private club. Auction items included rare collectibles including a guitar signed by David Bowie, an authentic Darth Vader helmet signed by the original Star Wars cast as well as trips to vacation destinations around the globe. The entire Oregon region of Guild Mortgage rallies around this annual event, even drawing company leadership from San Diego, CA and Seattle, WA to make the trip to attend.
